We’ve devised our own haunted Library scavenger hunt that you solve rhyming riddles to compete for prizes. We’ll have fun and refreshments join early. BPY605

 
Banned Book Week
Sunday, September 27-October 3, 2015
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community –- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types –- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. Join us this week and read a Banned Book.

 Manga Club
Wednesdays, September 30 and October 28, 4-5pm
Interested in manga? We have the club for you! Join your peers as we discuss different manga, watch anime and discuss all things manga. Refreshments will be served. BPY504 

 
Dinner and a Book
Tuesday, October 13, 7-8pm
While we eat some pizza let’s sit around and talk books in this very informal book club. Bring in your favorite book to talk about, peruse some books to check out, trade books and play a few book games. BPY507

 
Teen Read Week
“Get Away @ Your Library”
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) encourages libraries to use the Get Away theme during Teen Read Week™, October 18 - 24, 2015, to spotlight all the great resources and activities available to help teens build literacy skills while reading for the fun of it. An annual celebration, this year’s theme encourages libraries to help teens escape from the day to day grind of school, homework, family responsibilities, part-time jobs and so on by picking up something to read. 

 
Teen Speak: Get Away @ Your Library
Tuesday, October 20, 7-8pm
We’ll be escaping our daily routine, at least for an hour, with this escapist vacation filled with cupcakes and more! You may even want to bring a book just for the fun of it. BPY202

 
“Bones” T-Shirt
Wednesday, October 21, 7-8pm
You bring in an old white or black shirt – long or short sleeve- and we’ll show you how to turn it into a ‘rib-cage” shirt or your next Halloween costume. Limited openings. Register early. BPY319

 
Return to Forensic Science
Monday, October 26, 7-8:30pm
Mrs. Heiser and retired Detective Naylor have returned to the scene of the crime. If you haven’t gotten enough of this science filled program or this is your first time, join us for an evening of the real CSI. Please register for this program. BPY630

 
Minecraft             
Tuesday, October 27, 7-8:30pm
Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, build structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grows players can work together to create wonderful, imaginative things. You will be able to work in either creative or survival mode. You can use your own accounts if you have one. You will need to bring your own flash drive to save anything. BPY205

 
National Candy Corn Day
Friday, October 30, All Day
Join us for our annual Candy Corn Count! Try your hand at counting the candy corn in the jar in the Adult Reference area.  Have fun all day! Winners will be announced on Monday, November 2, 2015.
