Unclaimed Bagge by Jen Doll reviewed by G4 (6th. Grader

This book, “Unclaimed Baggage”, by Jen Doll, is very skillfully written.  It has three perspectives, from Doris, Nell, and Grant.  Doris is a hard-core girl working at a store called Unclaimed Baggage.  Nell is a free spirit who just moved to Alabama, where the story takes place.  Grant, the former captain of the football team, is told by his mom to get a job.

The author displays three different points of view in this novel.  Doris originally works at a store, Unclaimed Baggage, which sells people’s lost or unclaimed baggage from airports.  Nell comes there next, furious that her mom made her move away from her hometown, Chicago.  She left her boyfriend, Ashton, in Chicago also.  Grant comes to Unclaimed Baggage last, forced by his mom to get a job due to his partying nature.

The story shows how characters can really show personal growth.  The main setting of the novel is the store, Unclaimed Baggage, where a lot of the events occur. Nell shows growth by befriending Doris and Grant, and she also learns to accept her new surroundings.  Meanwhile, Grant changes his partying ways and turns his life around.  Doris doesn't change much, but she changes slightly.  Multiple bad things happen, and they struggle to find solutions.

I think this is a great story, with lots of plot twists.  I rate it a 5/5 because this book has suspense, mystery, and much more exciting content.  Teens will love this book and not be able to put it down until they finish it.
